How does Google Adwords work?

Adwords is a Google service, where you can advertise your website by using keywords which a potential customer would use to find your product or service.

Do a quick Google Search for anything you want, anything at all, but try and search for something general, such as 'computers.'

When you see the search results, you will see a set of highlighted results (upto 3) towards the top of the page and a vertical list of results on the right of the page. These are Adwords advertisements, they’re referred to as Sponsored Links.
